Happy Easter!

Maddie is growing up so fast, I can't believe she is already 10 months old! Today I found her pretending to talk on a toy phone. She loves to follow Asher everywhere he goes, and he loves every minute of it. She has such a sunny personality. I just don't know where all of these months have gone.

Fed Ex Truck!

As many of you know, Asher is obsessed with all things transportation. Lately, he has been particularly fascinated by Fed Ex trucks in particular. The Fed Ex truck obsession came about when I got really excited for my new camera to get here and when I saw the truck I squealed "The Fed Ex truck is here! The Fed Ex truck is here!" Now when He sees a Fed Ex truck he says "Wow! Fed Ex truck!" Our friend Clay happens to drive a Fed Ex truck for work and he let Asher climb around in it today. Asher thought it was the most exciting thing ever.

Below is a picture of the precise moment that Asher honked the big horn. I am surprised that it wasn't more blurry because at the precise moment that Asher honked the big horn, I jumped 4 1/2 feet into the air.

On another note, Below is a picture of how Paul found Asher, blanky and yellow guy this morning.

Sugar Addict

There has been so much candy in our house because of various Easter activities and I cannot stop eating it. I am still on a candy binge from Halloween. I always say that once any given Holiday is done, I'll eat better, but there is always another Holiday to buy candy for just around the corner. I just love candy, and it loves me. It sticks around just to prove it. I seriously need to find a 12 step program for this.

The Posse

From Left to Right: Dumbo's Blanky, Blanky, Asher, Yellow Guy, Dumbo

Sweet Dreams

Asher likes a little variety at bedtime. He will ask to sleep in a play tent that his Grandma and Grandpa gave him for Christmas, a toy tunnel, behind his door on the floor, sometimes he will even choose to sleep on his bed. A few nights ago I went in his room to check on him before I went to bed and I couldn't find him. After A frantic 30 seconds, I looked under his bed and there he was, fast asleep. He must have been feeling cooperative because he fell asleep facing the wall so Paul was able to get photographic evidence.
The one aspect of bedtime that must never be altered is that he must have his posse with him. He needs Dumbo, Blanky, Yellow guy, and Dumbo's blanky.

Radioactive Tumbleweeds

Does anyone else think that tumbleweeds are the funniest thing in the world? Nothing says "I am in the middle of nowhere" like a tumbleweed. My first year of college was spent at Eastern Arizona in Thatcher, AZ and my roommate from Boston knew she had arrived when she found tumbleweeds. Now we are blessed with an abundance in the Tri-Cities. I laugh every time I dodge one on the road.

So anyway, there is this news article in the Tri-City Herald about this new art exhibit in Richland by Artist Doug Gast featuring tumbleweeds under glass.

Expressive Eyebrows

My normally beautiful daughter gets these really crazy expressions on her face. Her two teeth on either side of her front teeth came in first so for a while she looked like a little vampire. People are always saying "She has such expressive eyebrows" She's friendly I promise!

Just so you know she doesn't always look like that...

When life gives you lemons...

I came into the kitchen yesterday to find both of my darling children rummaging through the refrigerator. Madeleine was clutching two wedges of soft cheese, I quickly grabbed those away from her. Asher was standing there with the straight up lemon juice. I told him that he wasn't going to like it, but he was insistent that he would. I decided to let him try it. This will teach him to grab random things out of the refrigerator, I thought. He started squeezing it into his mouth, instead of horror, he got this huge grin on his face and said "lemon juice yummy" and drank even more! What a nut! I did have strange lemon cravings when I was pregnant with him. I would buy lemons from the grocery store and suck on them to make me feel less nauseated. I would always order water at restaurants hoping to get a lemon wedge. After my pregnancy lemons were no longer appealing. With Madeleine I couldn't get enough chocolate, but I can never get enough chocolate. I now wonder if sucking on lemons was an Asher initiated craving from the beginning.
