This is Asher and Maddie's favorite game.

The Great Outdoors

This is our first year having a full backyard and we are enjoying it to the fullest. Asher begs to go outside constantly. At first it was a bit annoying, until I found out that the more he is outside, the less mess he is creating inside. Our friends, the Grossnickles, just got a new swing set and gave us their old plastic climbing toy/slide and Asher and Maddie think it is the best thing ever. Thanks Janna and Peter!

Asher and Maddie sampling the local 4 star rocks. Seriously, why do my kids like to put the rocks in their mouths. They both do this constantly.

Our Lilac bush finally bloomed. Asher smelled the lilac bush in about 10 different places and said "mmmmmm" each and every time.

Super Ash

Asher loves this reading show on PBS called Super Why. It has really taught him his letters and now he points letters out everywhere we go. When I turn the show on for him he gets really excited and grabs his magnetic letters off of the refrigerator. His favorite letters are M or W because if you put either one upside down it becomes the other. I love watching him learn.

In other Asher news, I desperately want him to be potty trained, but he isn't fully cooperating. He can keep his pants dry, but he gets performance anxiety and even though he wants to, he can't go in the potty. He is growing out of his size 5 diapers and I REALLY don't want to buy size 6 because they are a lot more expensive. He has been growing like a weed. I put a pair of size 2T pants on him that fit him great a month ago and they were seriously high waters. All of his 3T pants are in the washer, hence the no pants.

Fun Fun Fun

Here are some pictures of my kids creating mischief this morning.

Maddie and Asher took turns throwing themselves onto a pile of blankets and towels, then they rolled off laughing hysterically. They were so funny we couldn't muster up enough sternness to get mad.

Asher tried sitting on the car with Madeleine pushing it, but this seemed to work a bit better. Being a mom is the best job ever! Happy Sunday!

Pictures

So, I am pretty much the worst blogger ever. A lot has happened in the last week. I turned 25, but it makes me feel old, so I don't like to think about it. In my mind I am still 20. I think I stopped considering age about the same time I got married.

Anyway, here are some pictures from the last week...

Above is a picture of Madeleine on a tractor at my Grandpa's farm. Asher wouldn't go near it. He was absolutely terrified of the tractor, and still talks about how scary it was. Surprising for a boy who loves all other forms of machinery. Grandpa started it up for him and I think the noise of the engine starting scared him.

Sandwiches

Asher asked for 7 pieces of bread to make a sandwich. I let him have two. I didn't think he would share so I gave Maddie half of a piece. Here is a picture of Asher and Maddie sharing their spoils. I love it when my kids play together. They are such good friends and it warms my heart.

Adventures

Madeleine has finally reached the age when she is into everything, and needs CONSTANT supervision to avoid disaster. We have a baby gate between our den and living room. Maddie would scale it and fall over, so we raised it a bit and she figured out how to crawl under the gap.

This morning Asher and Maddie unwrapped about 10 cubes of butter and were both chowing down when I got suspicious and came into the kitchen. I wonder what that does to your cholesterol. In my defense, I was cleaning the bathroom, not blogging when it happened.
